| Instructions for Free Standing Lace designs |

FREE STANDING LACE (4X4) You will need: Two layers of water soluble stabilizer. I use Vilene Avlon Plus. Thread (I used Marathon 40wt) Use same thread color on bobbin. 1. Stitch designs on two layers of water soluble stabilizer. 2. Cut most of the stabilizer away and put design in warm water to dissolve remainder of stabilizer. The longer the design remain in the water, the softer the design will become. The best is to replace the water with clean warm water as soon as stabilizer is dissolved. This will ensure that most stabilizer is rinsed out. For a more rigid design, remove the design from the water just as the stabilizer disappear. Once the design is dry, ligtly iron the design on the reverse side. The remaining stabilizer will then crystalize and your design will retain it's rigidity. Leave on a flat surface to dry completely before ironing. COTTON WOOL / MAKE-UP HOLDER Stitch or glue the long sides of the side panels together and then stitch/glue the bottom in place for by the lid if required. NON-FREE STANDING DESIGNS These designs can be used in combination with the free standing lace. Stitch these designs on overlays, table cloths, bed linen. 3D FREE STANDING LACE Choose a pair of the free standing lace loose wings. Stitch out on water soluable stabilizer like Vilene Avlon Plus. Before dissolving the stabilizer in water, cut away most of the stabilizer. Now, choose a corresponding butterfly or dragon fly from the non-free standing lace collection and stitch the wings on your choice of project. Pin the free standing wings on top of the stitched out wings. The body of the butterfly can now be stitched out to keep free standing wings in place. With the dragon flies you can also choose if you want the body to be free standing or not. The body of the non-free standing butterflies/dragon flies are in different colors to allow you to attach the free standing wings - the machine will stop for a color change.
